Abstract

This study aims to investigate the skill development of 21st century teachers on the basis of applying the concepts of instructional design skills. It also aims to identify the instructional design skills of teachers of the 21st century, as well as to know the skills that teachers of the future should possess. Moreover, it is an attempt to identify the most important challenges facing the teacher in the twenty-first century. For data collection, the researcher designed a questionnaire to be distributed on 20 curriculum experts. The study followed the descriptive approach to analyze, interpret and describe the results of the study. The results showed that there is awareness of the 21st century skills and the methods compatible with instructional design. However, there are certain challenges facing teachers in the 21st century. The study concluded that it is necessity to provide teacher guides and training programs on how to develop and measure 21st century skills.
