National University’s Educational Administration program, leading to the California preliminary administrative services credentials, has utilized a portfolio to capture student responses to field work experiences. Students have been required to complete a portfolio with a short reflection for each of the Program Learning Objectives, then complete two activities for each of the six course learning outcomes and competencies which today align with state and interstate standards. Students then produce a selfevaluation and request a site mentor/supervisor to evaluate them in terms of these standards. These requirements are summarized in a published Portfolio Manual, and more recently into electronic portfolios.
